Budget Desktop Privacy Policy

Budget Desktop is a desktop companion to Our Budget. Because it accesses the same household budget, the Our Budget privacy practices also apply to the shared budget data.

1. Information accessed

When you use Budget Desktop, the app may access the budget information needed for its features, including income, expenses, allocations, categories, and savings goals associated with your household budget.

2. Shared cloud data

Budget Desktop uses the same household passcode and Supabase-backed budget as the Our Budget website. Information may be transmitted to and stored by the services that synchronize the shared budget. Protect your household passcode and your computer account.

3. Purpose of processing

Budget data is processed to display and update the household budget and provide the desktop companion features you request.

4. Device and release information

Installing or running a desktop app can involve local application files and operating-system or diagnostic information needed to run or troubleshoot the app. Download delivery is provided through GitHub releases, which has its own privacy terms for visits and downloads.

5. Retention, security, and choices

Shared budget information is handled under the Our Budget account and storage arrangements. Uninstalling the desktop app does not necessarily delete cloud-stored budget data. Use the website's available account or data controls where applicable, and keep your device and passcode secure.
